PH Women’s Association Jakarta Celebrates Buwan ng Wika

As part of the celebration of Buwan ng Wika, the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta’s Sentro Rizal hosted the Philippine Women’s Association in Jakarta’s “Araw ng Wika, Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa Nagkakaisang Bansang Filipinas” on 31 August 2019. (Jakarta PE photo)

Around 60 kids from the Filipino community aged two to 17 years old learned how to sing to popular Filipino songs such as Bahay Kubo and Saranggola ni Pepe, and perform Filipino traditional dances, such as Itik-itik and Pandango sa Ilaw. They also played traditional Filipino games, such as sungka, pabitin, sack race and pukpok palayok. (Jakarta PE photo)
