YANGON 20 September 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Yangon, led by Ambassador to Myanmar Eduardo E. Kapunan, and members of the Filipino Community in Myanmar participated in the “SAPICON Family Sports Day” organized by Samahang Pinoy sa Construction in Myanmar (SAPICON-MM) at the Thalun International School – Ahlone Campus on 1 September 2019.

In his Message, Ambassador Kapunan reiterated that Filipinos must always be humble in words and deeds because in humility one will be raised, whereas if one thinks or speaks highly of himself, he will eventually be humbled and put in his place.

The Ambassador also expressed his happiness at seeing Filipinos employed in the garments sector and other industries in Yangon participating in the SAPICON Family Sports Day, as it indicated that the event is not exclusive to the organization’s members. He assured the crowd that the Embassy is always ready and eager to assist all Filipinos in Myanmar to ensure their welfare and safety.

The sports event included oath-taking of newly-elected officers, a raffle, a Filipino potluck lunch, and parlor games for children. END
