PH Consulate General, Knights of Rizal Chicago Welcome Supreme KOR Commander, Court of Appeals Justice

CHICAGO 20 September 2019 — Court of Appeals Associate Justice and currently the Supreme Commander of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) Elihu A. Ybanez was received by Consul General to Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin at the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago on 03 September 2019. Justice Ybanez was accompanied by Atty. Pablo S. Trillana during the visit.

Justice Ybanez met with his fellow Knights to initiate new members into the KOR. Chicago was his second stop after London for the same mission. From Chicago, he proceeded to St. Louis, Missouri, where he met with another KOR Officer, Sir Juan Castro, to receive a wide array of artifacts about the Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.  

Justice Ibanez, after the call, administered the oath of the Consulate General’s Administrative Officer and Legal Officer Alvar E. Rosales, as the new Commander of the Knights of Rizal, Maynilad Chapter, taking over from former Deputy Consul General Romulo Victor M. Israel, Jr. who has been re-assigned to Manila on 01 September 2019.

Awards of Commendation were given to former Deputy Consul General Israel and Consul Melchor P. Lalunio Jr., also members of the Maynilad chapter, for public service and community involvement. Other Consulate General staff and Chapter members who were also given commendations were Jerwin I. Mamalateo, Ceasar A. Balarbar and Fritz John G. De Jesus.

Justice Ibanez and Atty. Trillana presented Consul General Jamoralin with two books, “Rizal and the Wide Road of Progress” authored by Atty. Trillana, and a commemorative coffee table book about Knights of Rizal, and a bronze-plated miniature bust of the Philippine national hero. END
