PH Consul General Reaffirmed as Dean of San Francisco Consular Corps

SAN FRNCISCO 20 Septembr 2019 —Consul General to San Francisco Henry S. Bensurto Jr. was re-affirmed as Dean of the San Francisco Consular Corps (SFCC) for 2019-2020.
Other officers of the SFCC are Vice-Dean and Honorary Consul of Iceland General Robert Cartwright Jr., Vice-Dean and Consul General of the Netherlands Gerbert Kunst, and Secretary/Treasurer and Honorary Consul of Slovakia Barbara Pivnicka.
The SFCC convened its first meeting luncheon for 2019-2020 on 10 September 2019 at the Fairmont Hotel and re-affirmed, through a vote of acclamation, Consul General Bensurto, Jr. as Dean.
This shall be the third year that Consul General Bensurto shall serve as Dean, having first been elected on 13 September 2017.
The Consul General presided over the meeting and facilitated the discussion with the guest speaker, San Francisco City and County Office of International Trade and Commerce Director Mark Chandler.
During his talk, Director Chandler shared that San Francisco is a city that welcomes international engagements, especially in the areas of trade and commerce. His office, in particular, works on innovation and technology exchange, Smart City dialogue, trade missions, investment promotions, and sister city partnerships
SFCC is a gathering of all consular officials represented in the Bay Area, and constitutes one of the largest diplomatic communities in the United States. The SFCC holds regular monthly meetings to discuss topics of mutual concern and interest. The next meeting of SFCC is scheduled in October 2019. END
