PH Ambassador to Australia Joins the Filipino Community in Buwan ng Wika Commemoration

CANBERRA 25 September 2019 – Ambassador to Australia Ma. Hellen B. De La Vega gave an inspirational message at the program to observe Buwan ng Wika (Month of the Filipino Language) organized by the Filipino Language School in Canberra on 07 September 2019.
In her remarks, Ambassador De La Vega underscored the importance for Filipinos overseas to continue speaking in their native tongue and for the younger Filipinos who are born and raised in Australia to develop affinity and fluency in the Filipino language.
The Honorable Member of Parliament David Smith recognized the significant contribution of the Filipino community to Australia and committed to support the operations of the Filipino Language School in this city. The language school has been serving the Filipino community in Canberra for the past nine years and is managed by a team of volunteers. END
