LONDON 27 September 2019 — Two Philippine companies were recognized during the 2019 Safety at Sea Awards (SASA) on 10 September 2019 at the London Marriott Hotel.

Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc (PTC) was named Maritime Employer of the Year for its unwavering commitment in maintaining excellent working practices while at the same time ensuring the safety and security of its crew.

On the other hand, Philippine Center Advance Simulation and Training (PHILCAMSAT) brought home the Best Crew Training Programme Award for the successful implementation of it's Human Element Leadership and Management Level (HELM) programme.  HELM equips top officers with the skills needed in responding to crisis situations.

“The recognition given to two Philippine companies for their achievements and best practices in the maritime sector attests of the Philippines’ leading role in one of the world’s most important industries,” Ambassador to United Kingdom Antonio M. Lagdameo said.

SASA is an annual awards ceremony aimed at honouring the hard work of people and organizations in addressing pressing issues faced by the maritime industry and in promoting a safe and secure working environment among all those who work in the said industry. END
