PH Participates at 2019 Chongqing Industry Cultural Industry Expo

CHONGQING 30 September 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Chongqing participated in the Eighth Chongqing International Cultural Industry Expo 2019, a four-day event organized by Chongqing Daily News Group in support of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee and Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Committee held at the Chongqing Yuelai International Convention Center on 12-15 September 2019.
Consul General to Chongqing Crescente R. Relacion attended the opening ceremony on 12 September 2019, where Chongqing Municipal Government Vice Mayor Pan Yiqin served as the guest speaker of the Expo. Also present during the opening ceremony were Chongqing Foreign Affairs Office Deputy Director General Tang Wen and Chongqing Culture and Tourism Development Committee Deputy Director General Zhu Mao, as well as the representatives of other Consulates General.
To further promote Philippine tourist destinations, the Philippine booth displayed tourism posters and materials from the Philippine Department of Tourism-Shanghai Office, Philippine-made fashion products, such as hand-woven bags, clothes, accessories, as well as food products, such as Benguet coffee and Malagos chocolate to showcase Filipino creativity and world-class products. These products were previously donated by the International Bazaar Foundation (IBF), as one of its chosen beneficiaries for the “Little Box Project”. Philippine brand Oishi also joined the Philippine booth by displaying its products, which include Philippine mango juice and snacks.
The Philippine booth was placed inside the N2 Hall, which was designated as the international culture hall of the Belt and Road. The Philippine Consulate General, along with the other participating Consulates General, received a cultural creativity award from the organizer. END
