PH Embassy in the Hague Attends Classical Musical Concert for Disadvantaged Students in PH

THE HAGUE 30 September 2019 — A concert for the benefit of Ang Bukas, a newly-formed non-profit organization whose main objective is to provide financial assistance and to give relevant guidance to Alternative Learning System (ALS) students in Tanay, Rizal was held on 14 September 2019 at the Theaterzaal of Het Vreedehuis.
In his brief remarks, Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda expressed gratitude to Zenaida “Wads” Tiongson-Wijnberg and Friends of Bart Wijnberg in organizing the event, and emphasized the important role of Filipino community organizations in providing sustainable assistance for disadvantaged sectors of society affected by difficult living conditions, including natural disasters.
The Ambassador mentioned that the Philippine Government has given recognition for the contribution of overseas Filipinos, communities and associations which have engaged in such noteworthy endeavors.
He also pointed out that Ms. Tiongson-Wijnberg was the 2008 recipient of the Presidential Award on Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (LINKAPIL) from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas and the 2009 Royal Honor of Knight in the Order of Oranje Nassau from the Dutch Government. END
