Chairman de Leon, in his lecture, emphasized that the reason for conflict is the absence of an awareness of the common histories and similarities among peoples. He stressed the importance of shared insights and heritage as the basic foundation of cooperation among Southeast Asian communities and for building an ASEAN socio-cultural community.

The lecture was attended by some eighty (80) officials from the MICT and other line ministries and organizations in Laos.  END
