AFP Officers Pay Courtesy Call to PH Consul General to Honolulu

HONOLULU 02 October 2019 – Two groups of officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) made a courtesy call to Consul General to Honolulu Joselito A. Jimeno on 10 September 2019 at the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu.

The AFP officers were in Hawaii for two separate official engagements namely,the 2019 Pacific Information Operations Symposium and the Ground Radar Air Defense Subject Matter Expert Exchanges.

The first group of officers, which consists of Lieutenant Colonel Julius A. Cabarloc and AFP Liaison Officer to the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Vince James DG Bantilanattended the 2019 Pacific Information Operations Symposium which was held from 10 to 12 September 2019. The convention had the theme “Countering Coercion: The Role of Information Operations.”

The second group of officers, which includes Philippine Air Force officers Lieutenant Colonel Marlon T. Hardillo, Lieutenant ColonelVoltaire Caesar P. Rapanut, Lieutenant ColonelAngelo L. Caraig, and Major Emerson T. Bermeo, attended the Ground Radar Air Defense Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE) which was held from 26 August to 06 September 2019. The activity is convened yearly between the Hawaii Air National Guard and the Philippine Air Force to promote security cooperation and capacity. END
