SINGAPORE 03 October 2019 — Collaboration and cultural exchanges in a whimsical and light-hearted collection of bright contemporary artworks filled the spaces of the Art Trek 13’s third exhibit, “Crossing Borders”, at Di Legno’s new and cozy gallery located in the bohemian Kampong Glam enclave on 14 September 2019.

Di Legno curator and owner Alyssa Ong dubbed the exhibit as very timely, as the Philippines and Singapore celebrate the 50th anniversary of their bilateral relations. Di Legno featured the Filipino artist Jayson Tejada for this year’s exhibit.

Ong is a valued supporter of Art Trek and Philippine art in general. Di Legno Gallery also supports artisans from Cebu, such as Vito Selma. The gallery showcased intricately-designed Vito Selma furniture.

On behalf of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, Minister and Consul General Adrian Bernie C. Candolada conveyed the Embassy’s appreciation for a set of Vito Selma wall décor which was generously donated by Ong to the Embassy.

Art Trek, which is already in its 13th year, is an annual event organized by the Embassy in collaboration with various Singapore galleries to showcase and promote Philippine art in Singapore. It is the centerpiece of the Embassy’s cultural diplomacy program. END
