28 March 2014 - Dr. Bosengkham Vongdara, Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism (center), received National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Chairman Prof. Felipe de Leon, Jr. last March 19, during the latter’s visit to Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) from March 18 to 21.
Chairman de Leon and Minister Vongdara discussed Laos-Philippines cooperation in the areas of culture and heritage. They also exchanged views on the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.
Chairman de Leon noted that 2015 will mark the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Laos diplomatic relations and will provide an excellent platform to initiate more active cultural cooperation between the two countries. The Philippines and Laos have an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cultural Cooperation signed in 1997. END
