PH Embassy in The Hague Joins Annual Embassy Festival

THE HAGUE 04 October 2019 – Continuing its thrust to promote cultural diplomacy, the Philippine Embassy in The Hague participated in the 7th Annual Embassy Festival on 07 September 2019 at Lange Voorhout.
This year's Embassy Festival was attended by an estimated 60,000 visitors and was participated in by 67 embassies in the Netherlands.
The Embassy invited Maite's Fascinating World of Asian Cuisine chef Maria Hontiveros-Dittke, and Theo & Brom Filipina founder Marielle Flores-Moens. Theo & Brom is the maker of the world's first Belgian Tableya using Philippine cacao, to promote and showcase Philippine traditional food at the Philippine Pavilion.
In addition to the booth, the Embassy also had a market stall to further promote the Philippine tourism. The Embassy distributed brochures featuring Philippine destinations such as Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Manila, Mindoro, Negros, Palawan and Northern Luzon.
They also distributed books on diving in the Philippines, as well as books on Philippine food. Aside from those, souvenir ballpens and Zamboanga luggage tags were also given away.
The Embassy, under the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee in The Hague (ACTH), was clustered under the ASEAN zone which included pavilions from the resident embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Each ASEAN country featured its local dishes to the participants of different cultures who are residing and working in the Netherlands. END
