ABU DHABI 04 October 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has teamed up with the Department of Energy (DOE) in promoting energy investment opportunities for Emirati investors and recently conducted the Philippine Conventional Energy Contracting Program (PCECP) Roadshow in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah from 22 to 26 September 2019.
The six-member delegation from the DOE was headed by Assistant Secretary Atty. Caron Aicitel E. Lascano and had the agenda to “Explore, Explore, Explore” during the roadshow.
Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hjayceelyn M. Quintana welcomed the DOE’s strategic promotion of petroleum exploration in the UAE, its first-ever roadshow in the Gulf and Middle East region.
Ambassador Quintana joined the DOE delegation in encouraging investors in the energy sector to partner with the Philippines by offering attractive terms, incentives, and service contracts with the government.
The PCECP Roadshow aims to provide energy security and sustainability in the country by looking for investors interested in oil and gas exploration in pre-determined and unexplored areas in the Philippines.
During their visit, the delegation met with the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a number of big industry players with offices in the UAE. The London-based Energy Institute (EI), with Middle East office in Dubai, arranged the meetings. END
