CANBERRA 04 October 2019 –  A total of 23 participants in the Fairley Leadership Program visited the Philippine Embassy in Canberra to engage with Ambassador to Australia Hellen B. De La Vega on 12 September 2019.

Ambassador De La Vega talked about the historic and evolving partnership of the Philippines and Australia and opportunities for further growth of the relations especially as the two countries approach 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2021.

The participants from Goulburn Murray Community in Victoria were in Canberra for a four-day training to explore challenges and opportunities for the Goulburn Murray region and develop their skills to become community leaders.

They were interested in the challenges that the Embassy and the Ambassador deal with and the developments that affect the relations of the Philippines and Australia. The program is on its 22nd year.

After the Ambassador’s talk, the participants enjoyed pancit (rice noodles) and turon (banana fritters) and had a quick tour of the Embassy grounds. END
