PH Embassy Welcomes DND Officials in Paris

PHOTO: Officials from the Department of National Defense, headed by Assistant Secretaries Teodoro Cirilo Torralba III and Jesus Rey Avilla, visited France on 23-25 September 2019 to engage in a series of meetings.

The Second Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meetings between DND and the French Ministry of Defense were held on 23 September 2019.  The bilateral dialogues, which was divided into strategy, logistics, and military, focused on the milestones and future areas of defense cooperation. 

Included in the delegation’s itinerary were meetings with some French defense industry players.  The delegation was treated to presentations, exhibitions, and trials of defense and security-related equipment and systems.

The visit of the DND is a re-affirmation of the Philippines’ and France’s shared commitment to strengthen bilateral defense relations,  having acknowledged their common defense and security challenges and interests.
