PH Tourism Wows in Jakarta’s Kompas Travel Fair 2019
PHOTO: The Department of Tourism’s “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign made a successful run at the Kompas Travel Fair at the Jakarta Convention Center from 20 to 22 September 2019.
The three-day event was highlighted by an essay writing competition by the Philippine tourism representatives in Jakarta. Penning his or her experience from visiting the Philippines, the winner will bag a round-trip Philippine Airlines tickets to Manila.
The Philippine booth’s mini stage also featured a talk show about the guests’ experiences and knowledge of Manila and Palawan. The visitors enjoyed tasting Cebu’s dried mangoes, Goldilocks’ polvoron, as well as other popular Filipino drinks and delicacies, such as the mango-flavored sago’t gulaman (drink with shredded fresh mango fruit mixed with crushed ice, fresh milk, tapioca pearls and gelatin), turon (fried banana rolls with langka fruit coated with brown sugar), and buko pandan (dessert with shredded young coconut, pandan-flavored gelatin with crushed ice and fresh milk).
