ASEAN Committee in Wellington Commemorates 52nd ASEAN Day
The ASEAN Committee in Wellington (ACW), led by the Philippines as its current Chair, commemorated the 52nd Anniversary of the ASEAN at the Embassy of Thailand on 19 September 2019.
Ambassador to New Zealand Jesus S. Domingo (third from right) highlighted the robust collective and bilateral relations of ASEAN countries with New Zealand, as an ASEAN Dialogue partner for 44 years. He also cited the excellent ASEAN-New Zealand people-to-people relations powered by the 70,000 plus Kiwis of Southeast Asian heritage – of which 60,000 are Filipinos.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Division Manager Andrew Needs (center) attended the event as a special guest.
