PH Embassy in Tehran Celebrates 52 Years of ASEAN
The Philippine Embassy in Tehran, led by Ambassador to Iran Wilfredo C. Santos (third from left), joined other ASEAN Embassies in Tehran in marking the 52nd Anniversary of ASEAN on 18 September 2019 at the Parsian Azadi Hotel in Tehran.
Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif (fourth from left) graced the occasion as the special guest of honor. In his remarks, he expounded on the headways made by ASEAN and the importance of constructive engagement and partnership not just with ASEAN but with the neighboring countries in the region.
The ASEAN Embassies showcased their respective national dress during the event, including samples of native cuisine and dessert. Guests at the event enjoyed the classic Bistek Tagalog and Ginataang Bilu-bilo served by the Embassy. (Tehran PE photo)
