PH Consul General to Jeddah Calls on Madinah Governor

JEDDAH 15 October 2019 — Consul General Edgar B. Badajos paid a courtesy call on Madinah Governor Prince Faisal Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on 17 September 2019.
The Governor had only good and kind words for the Filipino community. He always referred to the more than 60,000 Filipinos in Madinah as diligent and hardworking, and great contributors to the social diversity and economic dynamism of the province.
Consul General Badajos raised some concerns involving some Filipino workers in Madinah. The Governor assured Consul General Badajos that his office would look into the concerns in coordination with the provincial labor office.
The Madinah Province covers the governorates of Madinah, Al Hunakiyah, Mahd Al Thahab, Al-`Ula, Badr, Khaybar, and Yanbu Al Bahar. Its capital, Madinah City, is approximately three and a half-hour drive from Jeddah. According to local authorities, most of the Filipinos in the area work in the medical field.
