ASEAN Sec-Gen Speaks on “ASEAN in Vienna” at the PH Embassy in Vienna

VIENNA 15 October 2019 — On the margins of the 63rd General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Jock Hoi served as the keynote speaker at a forum organized by the Philippine Embassy held at the Philippine Embassy in Vienna on 17 September 2019.
The forum was attended by the members of the ASEAN Vienna Committee (AVC) and representatives from other foreign missions in Vienna, the Austrian federal government, and the members of the business community.
Secretary-General Jock Hoi highlighted the different priorities of ASEAN in Vienna, including trade and investment promotion, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, and deepening its partnership with the European Union (EU) and the IAEA.
The Secretary-General was in Vienna to sign the “Practical Arrangements between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency on Cooperation in the Areas of Nuclear Science and Technology and Applications, Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards.” END
