JEDDAH 10 October 2019 — The Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, hosted a lunch-meeting among the Consuls General of the member countries of the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC) on 19 September 2019.

As the newly-designated Coordinator of the Club, Consul General Badajos hosted the meeting where the members discussed possible projects and activities for 2019. Among the projects they considered were an Asian Film Festival and an Asian Food Festival. The Club also agreed to hold a sports fest sometime in December.

Consul General Badajos said that it is high time that the ACGC becomes more aggressive in its cultural promotion initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom is also opening up to the world.

“As Coordinator, the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah aims to revitalize the Club and further intensify its efforts in promoting greater people-to-people exchanges and cultural understanding between Saudi Arabia and the member countries,” Consul General Badajos said.

The ACGC is composed of 13 Asian countries that have Consulates Generals in Jeddah namely Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. END
