PH Embassy in Nairobi Participates in Cultural Day

NAIROBI 18 October 2019 — In line with the Philippine Embassy in Nairobi’s efforts to engage educational institutions in order to advance Filipino culture and cuisine and promote the country as a tourist destination, the Philippine Embassy supported the Philippine booth at the Braeburn Garden Estate International School Cultural Day on 11 October 2019.
In seeing the cultural and social diversity of the Cultural Day, Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. (CDA) Edgar Tomas “Gary” Auxilian said, “This was the essence of a cultural day, unity of diverse nations, cultures and interest culminating and working to promote greater understanding and a culture of tolerance among the youth of today, who are our hope for the future… our tomorrow.”
CDA Auxilian also lauded the Filipino Community leaders including Marissa Antonio, Liza Maaño and Jill Tertel, whose children attend the Braeburn Garden Estate International School, for organizing the wonderful Philippine booth.
In turn, the Filipino Community leaders thanked the Philippine Embassy for their support and assistance in providing the tourism materials and Philippine products, and expressed their hope for closer cooperation in the future.
The Philippine Booth featured Philippine products such as colorful straw hats and abaca bags, and Filipino food such as chicken adobo, chicharon, embutido, spring rolls, and puto. The booth also showcased different tourist destinations in the Philippines. END
