PH Consulate General in Xiamen Welcomes Davao Immigration Officials

XIAMEN 11 October 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Xiamen welcomed the five-member delegation of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) of Davao City International Airport (DIA) on 21 September 2019 at the Fliport Hotel in Jinjiang City.

The BI official’s visit to the Consulate General was held ahead of their participation in the Service Exchange Tour in Jinjiang and Xiamen cities from 21–28 September 2019. 

The tour was organized by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China (PROC) in Davao under the framework of Davao-Jinjiang sister city partnership. 

Head Supervisor Eric L. Fernandez led the delegation, along with Terminal Head Datu Abdullah C. Madale, Jr., BCIU-DIA Immigration Officers I Marina D. Fernandez, and Ryan Ray S. Milan, and Immigration Assistant Mark Andrew N. Asistido.

Consul General to Xiamen Julius Caesar A. Flores expressed appreciation to DIA-BI delegation for their valuable contribution to the promotion and protection of Philippines’ interests as well as pursuing international linkages to foster friendship and cooperation with its counterparts.

The delegation is expected to observe immigration best practices aimed to improve and promote the development of quality service, as well as strengthen ties and forge cooperation with its institutional counterparts in Jinjiang and Xiamen cities.

The Davao-Jinjiang route is the only direct air link between Davao City and China, which caters to Chinese travelers going to Davao City and the rest of Mindanao. DIA is the only Philippine airport serving the direct link between Jinjiang City and Mindanao. END
