“Isa, Dalawa, Tatlo…,” Counting in Filipino at the European School in The Hague
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in The Hague participated in the celebration of “European Day of Languages” at the European School in The Hague (ESH) on 26 September 2019. The Embassy cultural section joined a dozen other embassies in teaching their languages in rhyme and stories to mainly primary school children.
The Embassy was assigned a group of P3 and P5 students who were taught to count, read and recite in Filipino the numbers 1 to 10, “isa, dalawa, tatlo, apat, lima, ….” using Jomike Tejido’s book, “Tagu-Taguan”, a counting book in Filipino.
The yearly event aims to highlight The Hague diversity and multiculturalism, and to discover more languages among ESH students.
