PH Ambassador to Bangladesh Calls On Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Officials

DHAKA 14 October 2019 — Ambassador to Bangladesh, with concurrent jurisdiction over Sri Lanka, Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo, paid a courtesy call on the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sri Lanka (MOFA-LK) and the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine on 27 September 2019.
In the meeting with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General of East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania Division Damayanthie Rajapakse, the status of Philippine-Sri Lanka bilateral relations was discussed; and both parties agreed that there should be more engagements between the two countries. The upcoming Training Needs Assessment (TNA) mission in Sri Lanka in November 2019 by the Technical Cooperation Council of the Philippines (TCCP) was also discussed in the same meeting.
Ambassador Bandillo also met with Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine’s Deputy Director General of Public Health Services Dr. Susie Perera De Silva to clarify the matters relating to the implementation of a mandatory Health Protection Plan (HPP) as a new requirement for application and renewal of a residence visa.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Philippine Honorary Consul to Sri Lanka Hugh Sriyal Dissanayake, Vice Consul Leo Marco C. Vidal, and Embassy Attaché Joany G. Margallo-Lucas. Sri Lanka is among the three countries under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh. END
