DHAKA 14 October 2018 — Ambassador to Bangladesh Vicente Vivencio T. Bandillo was honored in a luncheon meeting that was organized by Pilmico Foods Corporation and Aboitiz Group during the Embassy’s Diplomatic, Consular, and Assistance-to-nationals (ATNs) Outreach Mission in Sri Lanka which is under jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka, on 26 September 2019. Also in attendance was the Chairman of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka Mangapala Yapa.

Pilmico, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Group, has recently acquired Singapore-based Gold Coin Management Holdings, Inc. which has significant operations in Sri Lanka.

Ambassador Bandillo highlighted the need to increase two-way trade, investment flows, and to pursue potential economic cooperation that both the Philippines and Sri Lanka can engage in for mutual benefit.

Following the luncheon, the Ambassador also met Sri Lanka BOI Director General Champika Malalgoda. Both sides agreed on the need to create an environment conducive for business interests through enabling laws, regulations, security, and safety conditions that would protect investments. He also discussed ventured opportunities in the Philippines with members of the Sri Lanka-Philippines Business Council (SLPBC) at a dinner hosted by the Council in his honor. END
