LOS ANGELES 14 October 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles joined the Filipino-American community in the Philippine Disaster Relief Organization’s (PeDRO) fundraising concert, entitled "Friends...Unplugged,” on 22 September 2019 at the Aratani Theatre.

The concert, which filled the venue to its capacity, featured four-time Grammy Award nominee  Morris Albert, singer-songwriter Kevin Click, multi-award winning singer-songwriter Odette Quesada, singer and actress Becca Godinez, and Berklee-educated saxophonist Ner De Leon.  It was organized in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation International to benefit the Foundation’s disaster relief efforts in the Philippines.

PeDRO, whose membership is composed of active leaders and members of various Fil-Am community leaders in Southern California, was established in Los Angeles in 2004 as the community leaders’ response to the call of the Philippine Consulate General to be part of the government’s relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Nanmadol which struck Quezon Province in November 2004.

To date, PeDRO continues to be active in undertaking projects for the victims of natural calamities in the Philippines. END
