PH Tells Australia: Be the Next PH Fun Travel Expert

SYDNEY 14 October 2019 — The Philippine Department of Tourism office in Sydney, led by the Tourism Promotions Board, organized a Philippine Business Mission (PBM), to provide the latest developments in the most sought after travel destinations in the Philippines on 02 to 03 October 2019, at Melbourne and Sydney.

About 25 participants from the private sector representing reputable hotels, resorts, and airlines in the Philippines gathered in Melbourne on 02 October and conducted business-to-business meetings with Melbourne-based travel agents.

With the theme entitled “Be the next Philippine fun travel expert,” the PBM gathered Melbourne-based travel agents to update them on the latest offerings in the Philippines’ key destinations and growing flight options with Australia.

The dinner reception on 02 October in Melbourne featured a trivia challenge, where the travel agents got to learn more about why it’s more fun in the Philippines. Australian Tourism Representative Norjamin Delos Reyes spoke about the fun activities that may be promoted in world-renowned Palawan, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, and Siargao.

Australia is one of the top five sources of tourist arrivals in the Philippines, which has been increasing in the past five years. The Philippine government is making significant investments in infrastructure through the ‘Build, Build, Build’ program to improve inter-island connectivity and facilitate the flow of business. The Philippines is also committed to responsible and sustainable tourism and is working closely with various stakeholders to ensure this is maintained. END
