THE HAGUE 14 October 2019 — Dr. Eleuterio J. Revollido, the rector of the Aglipay Central Theological Seminary of the Iglesia Filipina Indepediente, received the Rinkel Prize from the Old Catholic Seminary on 21 September 2019.
“The prize is awarded bi-annually to those who have contributed to the Old Catholic theology or to the ecumenical field in which Old Catholic theology is used and practiced. The award was named after the Old Catholic Church’s Archbishop of Utrecht, Andreas Rinkel,” Old Catholic Seminary Dean Dr. Matthijs Ploeger said.
The award given to Dr. Revollido, according to Dr. Prof. Rev. Peter-Ben Smit of the University of Utrecht, is an essential recognition of the value of Filipino theology for churches in the Netherlands, as well as a functional expression of a long-standing relationship between Dutch and Filipino churches.
