PH Embassy in Ottawa Successfully Conducts Consular Outreach Mission in Regina
PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa conducted a consular outreach mission on 27 to 30 October 2019 at Regina, Canada.
The consular outreach team processed a total of 572 consular services, majority of which were renewal of e-Passports applications. There were also 13 individuals who applied for the re-acquisition of their Filipino citizenship and took their respective oaths of allegiance on 28 to 30 September 2019.
The team gave a briefing on the 7th Edition of Winter Escapade (WE7) to Filipinos availing of consular services, and encouraged them to register and disseminate information about WE7 to their family and friends. Brochures and leaflets on WE7 were also distributed to interested individuals.
First Secretary Jeffrey P. Salik also delivered talks on the Embassy’s financial literacy and entrepreneurship program to inspire Filipinos to plan their finances and make profitable investments for their future.
The consular outreach mission, led by Deputy Chief of Mission Francisco Noel R. Fernandez, brought together the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) of the Consulate General in Vancouver, Social Security System of the Consulate General in Calgary, and Pag-IBIG of the Consulate General in Toronto.
Based on the 2016 Statistics Canada census, there are 8,955 and 33,600 members of the Filipino Diaspora in Regina and in Saskatchewan, respectively. (Ottawa PE photo)
