PH Senator Meets with Leading Danish Expert on Sustainability, Health Matters

COPENHAGEN 30 October 2019 - Senator Pilar “Pia” S. Cayetano met with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) expert and health officials during her visit to Copenhagen from 6 to 9 October 2019.
As part of her advocacy for health and in her capacity as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on SDGs, innovations and futures thinking and also, Ways and Means Committee, Senator Cayetano met with Mr. Jens Ole Back Hansen, Chief Adviser on SDGs of Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Hansen gave an overview of Denmark’s implementation of the SDGs, best practices and strategic cooperation with other countries. He also shared insights on Denmark’s legislation process on the SDGs and active collaboration with the private sector.
Senator Cayetano also met with the Ministry of Health officials, Andreas Jull Sørensen and Anja Gade Andersen, to exchange ideas and policies on e-cigarette regulation. Sørensen shared Denmark’s compliance with EU regulations on tobacco directive products and total ban on e-cigarette advertising.
Fitness and well-being policies for the public and local government units. The Senator likewise explored the possibility of integrating happiness and well-being research in the Philippines during a meeting with experts of the Happiness Research Institute. END
