PH Consulate General in Milan Co-organizes Public Forum in Turin, Italy
MILAN 07 November 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Milan co-organized a public forum with the law firm Ambrosio and Commodo Studio Legali Associato at the Centro Studi di San Carlo in Turin, Italy, on 27 October 2019.
The activity served as a platform to provide relevant information for Filipinos in Piemonte, Vale d’Aosta and other regions in northern Italy on the requirements, procedure and qualifications for applying a permit of stay (Permesso di Soggiorno) in Italy, Italian citizenship and also for filing claims for damages resulting from road accidents, accidents at work and medical malpractice. Four lawyers, including Filipino Atty. Paul Francis Sombilla served as resource speakers.
In his remarks, Philippine Consulate General in Milan Acting Head Consul Mersole Mellejor conveyed his appreciation to Atty. Renato Ambrosio and his associates at Ambrosio and Commodo Studio Legali Associato for making themselves available and for providing the free venue for the forum. He also thanked the members and leaders of the Filipino community for their participation, underscoring that information gained from the activity empowers them to be in a better position to properly manage and make sound decisions on matters that affect their stay in Italy. He also stressed the importance of sharing the information with other Filipinos who could not join the activity.
The forum is one of several collaborative activities, with no additional costs to the Philippine government, that Philippine Consulate General in Milan is undertaking with local government and private offices to supplement its initiatives for Filipinos in its jurisdiction.
In addition to the forum in Turin, Philippine Consulate General in Milan has also co-organized drug awareness seminars with the local governments of Milan and Modena with similar projects with the local governments of Bologna, Turin, and Brescia, in the pipeline. END
