PH Consulate General in Toronto Joins the 22nd Anniv of Twinning Between the Cities of Baguio and Vaughan

TORONTO 08 November 2019 — Consul General to Toronto Orontes V. Castro attended the 22nd Anniversary of the Friendship Agreement between the cities of Baguio, Philippines and Vaughan, Ontario, on 26 October 2019 at the Patricia Kemp Community Center in Vaughan City, Ontario.

Also present at the event were Vaughan City Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua, members of the City Council, Minister Michael Tibollo, MPP, Constituency Office for Vaughan-Woodbridge, Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughan (FCAV) President Erlinda Insigne and other Filipino community (FilCom) leaders.

Mayor Bevilacqua praised the Filipino community in Vaughan for not only being hard-working immigrants but also being partners in the development of the city. Consul General Castro, in his remarks, encouraged both sides to continue their partnership through enhanced and regular people-to-people visits, most notably among bilateral trade and investment partners. The celebration also involved presentations by the Filipino community. END
