Philippine Pavilion’s Design, Logo for Expo 2020 Dubai Launched

DUBAI 01 October 2019 – The United Architects of the Philippines – Dubai in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Dubai, on 09 September 2019 organized a Town Hall Meeting on the Philippine Participation in Expo 2020 at VOX Cinema, Deira City Centre.
More than 300 guests, mostly architects and leaders of the Filipino community, were briefed on the theme of the Philippine pavilion for Expo 2020. Architect Royal Pineda of Budji+Royal, the company commissioned to design the Philippine pavilion, also shared with guests the concept behind the “bangkota” (coral reef) design.
Vice President for Visitor Experience Integration of Expo 2020 Dr. Robert Platt, provided guests with updates on the construction of the Expo site.
Under the Administrative Order No. 17 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte early this year, the Philippines has committed to participate in the Expo 2020 Dubai, which will be held in Jebel Ali between 20 October 2020 and 10 April 2021, to promote before the world audience the heritage, talent, and ingenuity of the Filipino people, as well as showcase the country’s vibrant economy, tourist destinations and emerging technological innovations.
