PH Embassy in Brasilia Conducts Workshop on El Filibusterismo

PHOTO: As part of its cultural promotion program, the Philippine Embassy in Brasilia held a workshop on “El Filibusterismo”, in the Chancery on 27 October 2019.  Filipina-Brazilian Professor Barbara Bomfim of the Centro Universitario UNIEURO in Brasilia served as the workshop facilitator.

Professor Bomfim explained why Dr. Jose Rizal dedicated the El Filibusterismo to the memory of Fathers Mariano Gómez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, the Filipino secular priests executed in 1872 and collectively called GOMBURZA.

The workshop on “El Filibusterismo” was aimed at providing a deeper appreciation of the famous novel of our national hero and instilling among the participants a greater sense of patriotism and love of country. (Brasilia PE photo)
