Jeddah-based OFWs Finish Vocational, Technical Programs

JEDDAH 30 October 2019 – A total of 160 Filipinos in Jeddahcompleted their vocational and technical training programs on 18 October 2019. The graduates, most of whom hold regular jobs, finished various short courses in computer literacy, aircon and refrigeration, hairdressing, CCTV essentials, bread and pastry, solar renewal energy, and massage therapy and reflexology, among others.
The training programs were given by the Filipino Computer Literacy Program (FILCOM), a community-based organization that helps overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in acquiring additional technical skills through various training programs that may help them have better career opportunities in the Kingdom.
Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang represented the Consulate during the activity and commended the graduates for using their time to acquire additional vocational skills. He likewise urged them to be innovative, enterprising and entrepreneurial, and save money for capital and use it to set up their own businesses back in the Philippines. END
