OSLO 20 November 2019  – The Philippine Embassy in Oslo in coordination with Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Stockholm (PTIC – Stockholm) conducted Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) seminar on 14 October 2019.

TNK aims to generate more jobs and promote entrepreneurship among overseas Filipinos by providing them with the necessary information, contacts, and other resources that can help them succeed as entrepreneurs.

PTIC-Stockholm representative Mary Borromeo-Hedfors and Department of Trade and Industry representative Clariza Mae Columna served as resource persons. Ms. Borroneo-Hedfors and Ms. Columna encouraged members of the Filipino community to change their mindset towards becoming overseas Filipino investors and entrepreneurs. Basic financial education, considerations in starting a business, and business opportunities including franchising options were also discussed. 

In welcoming the almost fifty and mostly female participants, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General to Oslo Maria Elena P. Algabre said that the TNK seminar was a continuing component of the Embassy’s Gender and Development (GAD) program, specifically on the conduct of financial management seminars for the community.
