02 April 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to Lebanon Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz led Embassy, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) officers and staff in gracing the induction of the set of officers of the Lucky7 Group, a new Filipino community organization in Lebanon last March 2.  The Lucky7 Group was formed on 8 December 2013 and has thirteen officers and members.

The nine (9) founding officers of the group took their oath of office before Ambassador Ruiz.  Prior to the oath taking, Ambassador Ruiz delivered her message wherein she congratulated and conveyed her best wishes to them and assured them of the Embassy’s support.  The Ambassador also took the opportunity to encourage the Filipinos present to be always mindful of the advisories issued by the Embassy on its website and posted on its Facebook page with regard to recent security incidents in Lebanon.

After the induction, a look-a-like and talent competition was held where 12 members of the Filipino community competed.  A raffle draw was also held where electronic appliances were given away to the winners.  After the awarding of the winners of the competition, the President of the Lucky 7 Group, Ms. Ana Marie Lim, thanked their supporters and sponsors as well as those who attended their event.
