PH Consul General in Honolulu Receives New AFP Chief of Staff

HONOLULU 28 November 2019 — The new Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Noel S. Clement visited the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (U.S. INDOPACOM) in the Consulate General in Honolulu on 04 to 06 November 2019.

Having been inducted last 24 September 2019, General Clement also visited the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, the Defense Prisoners of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Accounting Agency, and the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance. He also called on Consul General to Honolulu Joselito A. Jimeno on 05 November 2019. 

Accompanying General Clement were Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans Major General Augusto D. Dela Peña, J5 AFP and Maj. Jean Alia Y. Robles, PA.  Also present at the call were Deputy Consul General Angelica C. Escalona, Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Brigadier General Marlo M. Guloy and AFP Liaison Officer to the U.S. INDOPACOM Colonel Joseph P. Archog.

Consul General Jimeno and General Clement discussed developments in the Philippines, the AFP’s modernization program and Philippine-U.S. military relations. END
