PH Embassy in Ankara Meets with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce

ANKARA 28 November 2019 – Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Raul S. Hernandez met with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) President Şekib Avdagiç to discuss ways on forging stronger economic linkages between the Philippines and Turkey at the ICOC headquarters in Istanbul on 09 November 2019.
Ambassador Hernandez also briefed Mr. Avdagiç on tourism ties and the scheduled Turkey Roadshow by the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) in December 2019. The ICOC has offered to gather its members in the tourism sector to hold a meeting, which will include presentations from both sides, with DOT representatives during the visit.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce is the largest business chamber in Europe and fifth largest in the world. The chamber has over 400,000 members, which contribute to more than half of Turkey’s total export volume and nearly half of the country’s total budget. END
