PH Embassy in Jakarta Conducts Orientation for OFWs on Basic Indonesian Labor, Immigration Regulations

JAKARTA 29 November 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, in collaboration with Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower (MoM) and the Directorate General of Immigration, conducted an Orientation on Basic Indonesian Labor and Immigration Regulations concerning Foreign Workers as part of its Consular and Gender and Development (GAD) program on 09 November 2019 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Head of Work Permit for Services Sector at MoM’s Directorate of Foreign Worker Utilization Ali Chaidar discussed the legal basis, requirements, procedures and latest regulations which aim to ease hiring of foreign workers as the demand for highly skilled foreign workers grows due to the continual influx of foreign investments in Indonesia.
The presentation of Immigration Analyst Ade Widhia Sathria Suryawirawan focused on the simplified process of the issuance of appropriate visas and permits to foreign workers in Indonesia once their application has been approved by the Ministry of Manpower.
The event, offered to Overseas Filipino Workers, was attended by 51 participants who were given the opportunity to ask questions or consult on labor and immigration issues after the presentation of the two resource speakers.
