PH Embassy in Prague Welcomes Cooperation Agreement of Guimaras State College, Mendel University in Brno

PRAGUE 11 December 2019 — Philippine Ambassador to Czech Republic Ombra T. Jainal received the call of officials from Mendel University in Brno and Guimaras State College (GSC) at the Philippine Embassy in Prague on 20 November 2019.

GSC President Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo and Associate Professor Joel V. Japitana reported to Ambassador Jainal that they were at Mendel University for 10 days to discuss concrete activities and projects in the fields of agriculture and forestry.

According to Mendel University in Brno Vice Dean Eva Taterova, Professor Dr. Tomas Losak of the Faculty of Regional Development and International Studies, and Dr. Petr Kupec of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, the research studies of Mendel University students, who undertook internships in Guimaras, thus far, covered the quality of soil in Guimaras and mango farming.

Dr. Artajo and Mendel University in Brno Rector Dr. Danuse Nerudova signed the Memorandum of Understanding between Guimaras State College, Philippines and Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic which provides for academic and research collaboration, and exchange of faculty, researchers and students.
