PH Embassy in Singapore, Int’l Pro Bono Alliance, Inc. Conduct Free Lecture, Legal Aid Clinic for FilCom

SINGAPORE 13 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, together with the lawyers from the International Pro Bono Alliance, Inc. (iPBA), conducted free lectures and legal aid clinic at the Philippine Embassy on 24 November 2019.

Volunteer members of the International Pro Bono Alliance, Inc. headed by iPBA  President Atty. Purification Bartolome-Bernabe flew in from Manila to provide free legal assistance to our kababayans in Singapore.

She was joined by Atty. Robert Cruz, Atty. Eduardo Cezar Gaanan, Jr., Atty. Maribeth Sanchez, and Ms. Geralyn Inso. Mr. Douglas MacLean and Ms. Stephanie Teh from Justice Without Borders also lend their free legal expertise during the event.

During the lecture session, Atty. Bartolome-Bernabe discussed about Philippine family laws focusing on adoption, annulment of marriage, and recognition of divorce, among others. Atty. Cruz, on the other hand, gave a presentation on property laws, specifically on property acquisition, while Mr. MacLean and Ms. Teh discussed about cross border claims.

A total of 47 overseas Filipinos attended the event where 36 pre-registered clients availed of the one-on-one legal consultations with the lawyers of the International Pro Bono Alliance. END
