NAIROBI 13 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Nairobi celebrated with the Filipino Community (FilCom) in Nairobi the successful end of the 2019 FILCOM-KENYA Sportsfest, with a Filipino Mass, Awarding Ceremony and Halloween Party at Hekima University Sports Grounds, on 10 November 2019.
“There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the successful end of a Sportsfest among Filipinos abroad because of the friendship and camaraderie formed in sports competition”, Philippine Ambassador to Kenya Alex G. Chua said. “The games and matches are more important than winning,” he added.
Ambassador Chua also thanked the FilCom Board of Directors for organizing the Sportsfest and Halloween Party. “We truly appreciate the time, effort and resources you have devoted all these Sundays from July to November for these activities”.
A Filipino Mass officiated by Filipino priests, Father Erik Dula, Father Norman Labutan and Rev. Glenn Dumali began the day’s activities before the Awarding Ceremony.
The Awarding Ceremony was followed by a fun Halloween Costume Party for the Filipino Community.
