Youth Contingent Competes in Guam Basketball Tournee

AGANA 16 December 2019 – Two teams composed of high school and elementary school students from the Philippines namely, First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) School Tanauan, Batangas (16U-highschool) and Colegio San Agustin Binan, Laguna (12U-elementary) competed in the 2019 Thanksgiving Hoopfest Tournament in Tamuning, Guam on 28 November 2019.
The FAITH U16 basketball team, along the parents and coaches, paid a courtesy visit at the Philippine Consulate General in Guam on 29 November 2019.
Acting Head of Post Vice Consul Alex O. Vallespin congratulated the team for winning the match and encouraged the young athletes to further hone their skills and reach for greater heights, not just in sports, but also in their studies. “Sports instills discipline and teamwork. All of these concepts can be applied in real life. Never forsake the value of education. Play hard but study well,” Vice Consul Vallespin said.
The Academy of Computer Arts and Sciences (ACAS) Education and Basketball Center organizes the annual tournament since 2005. END
