04 April 2014 - The Philippine Consulate General in Agana has continued to receive donations for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Among the latest to give donation is the Guam Chapter-Association of Government Accountants (AGA). On March 31, four of AGA’s officers, led by its incoming President, Ms. Rachel Field, called on Philippine Consul General in Agana Bayani V. Mangibin to turn over AGA’s check donation amounting to US$ 2,698.00. The amount is intended for the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for the benefit of the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims in the Philippines. 

 

On the other hand, Dr. Merlynn Abello-Alfonso, Philippine Honorary Consul to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), called on the Philippine Consulate on April 2 to hand over the cash donation of the United Filipino Community in Pohnpei (UFCP) and the Pohnpei Photography Club in the amount of US$1,000.00. The donation is addressed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the communities affected by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).  This amount was raised from the unified fund-raising event of the two organizations in Pohnpei on February 22. The United Filipino Community in Pohnpei is headed by Mr. Russel Figueras, President.

 

Last March 12, Dr. Merlynn Abello-Alfonso also visited the Consulate and turned over to Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian the amount of US$ 297.59 from Mr. Reed Oliver, as donation to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims. The said amount was the donations collected by Mr. Reed and his family in their store in Pohnpei for the typhoon victims. Mr. Oliver is a Pohnpeian/FSM citizen and currently the Honorary Consul of Israel to the Federated States of Micronesia. END
