PH Embassy in Rome Triumphs ASEAN Bowling Anew

ROME 16 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Rome won the championship trophy for the second time in a row for garnering the highest score and winning the Best Team category during the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) Bowling Tournament 2019 held on 16 November 2019 at the Brunswick Recreation Center in Rome.

The activity, organized by the Philippine Embassy in Rome, as current chair of the ACR, brought together the personnel and families of the six ASEAN Embassies in Rome namely, the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam to get to know each other, promote camaraderie, and strengthen friendship.

Ambassador to Italy Domingo Nolasco said in his remarks, “A cornerstone of ASEAN connectivity is people-to-people connectivity where people of ASEAN are brought together by promoting deeper intra-ASEAN social and cultural understanding. I hope that this activity will contribute in our efforts to build a closer, tighter and stronger ASEAN community.”

The players from the Philippine Embassy in Rome also won awards for individual categories. Rebecca Magno and Rose Cynthia Villaruz won first place and third place, respectively, for the Best Female category. Carlo Magno and Ric Miranda won second place and third place, respectively, for the Male Category.

The Philippine Embassy team was composed of Ambassador Domingo Nolasco, Joey Espolong, Carlo Magno, Ric Miranda, Marion Reyes, Rose Cynthia Villaruz, Rammel Villena and Rebecca Magno. END
