PH Delegation Meets with Bilateral Partners at the Sidelines of the 24th CSP of the OPCW

THE HAGUE 23 December 2019 — The Philippine Delegation to the 24th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP) to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) undertook two (2) bilateral meetings at the sidelines of the Conference on 28 November 2019.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Director-General Fernando Arias met with Philippine Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda, Office of the President Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Atty. Michael P. Ong, Committee on Public Order and Safety Representative Jorge Antonio P. Bustos, Jr. and, AFP-Munitions Control Center BGen. Fernando V. Felipe.

Earlier, on 26 November 2019, the Philippine Delegation also met with State Defense Minister and UK Delegation Head Baroness Annabel Goldie at the sidelines of the Conference. Baroness Goldie thanked the Philippine Delegation for the release of Allan Hyrons, a British national kidnapped in October 2019 by the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu Province with his Filipino wife, Wilma Hyrons. Other matters discussed include the Philippine interests in the OPCW, primarily in capacity building. END
