MOSCOW 23 December 2019 — The Philippine Embassy in Russia met with a leading Russian transport infrastructure company on 06 December 2019 at the Embassy to discuss the possibility of participating in the development of the transport infrastructure of the Philippines.

General Director of Transstroyproekt LLC Dmitry Harlamov met with Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos D. Sorreta and presented past and current projects of his company as well as their innovative designs and technologies. Transstroyproekt LLC specializes in designing transport infrastructure facilities, including bridges, overpasses, interchanges, pedestrian crossings, and other transport facilities, as well as prefabricated buildings with a bearing metal frame (warehouses, workshops, shopping and entertainment complexes, sports complexes, business centers) and other metal structures.

“We always welcome interest in the Build, Build, Build, program of the Philippine Government. Looking at a wider set of options can help in the further success of this program and Russian companies—particularly those that can vertically integrate, that bring a lot of knowledge, experience and the newest technologies—can certainly widen our options and allow us to make the best choices,” Ambassador Sorreta said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Sorreta discussed the transport infrastructure needs of the Philippines as well as the Philippine government procurement law and the options available to potential foreign investors.

Together with Mr. Harmalov was Mr. Lenin Magallona, a Filipino businessman and long-time resident of Russia who discussed financing options for companies like Transstroyproekt LLC which might want to participate in building projects in the Philippines.  On the other hand, Ambassador Sorreta was accompanied by the Head of the Economic Section of the Embassy Vice-Consul Grace Perpetua, and Head of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Moscow Kitchi Umali.
